It’s Time for Guy’s Glam

As the festive mood envelops the air, salons and spas are finding it difficult to deal with increasing number of visitors, that too Male Visitor! Yes, you have read right. Men too have become conscious for their look. Swaraj Singh, a salon spa owner at Lajpat nagar Delhi says that with changing times, looking good is no longer just a woman’s prerogative. “Men have really become aware of their looks and are now consciously indulging in beauty treatments and spa services. Diwali and such festive occasion is a time when even men want to look good. Head and body massages, body exfoliation and pedicures are quite the rage in men these days. So if you are still not up to the trend, then rush to get ready to dazzle. It’s the time for guy’s to go glamorous as well. To help you, we have brought a crisp read on.

Grooming has become an all consuming affair and now, it’s not limited to women only. New-age men are willing to put their best face forward by having their share of beauty treatments like waxing, body polishing, pedicure, and manicure. There is a range of products and services available for men in various spas and salons. Men also love to flaunt a cool hairstyle and therefore prefer going for styling, highlights or coloring their hair, especially in the party season. “Men come for weekly haircuts before Navratri and Diwali and opt for hair gels and hair wax to style their hair for the celebration time,” adds Singh. Also, these days special face packs, clean-up sessions and exfoliation treatments for men are available in salons to get that festive glow.

So if are you wondering what has transformed these men to tread on the ‘beauty’ path? Veer Singh, a Corporate Communication Manager from Lucknow answers to your wonder. “With the changing trend the basic need to look and feel good has evolved now. So going to parlors for waxing, facials and massage has become a common trend for us. Reason it not only makes one feel clean, but also relaxes the body and mind.” The stunning Singh adds, “It is not just a woman’s domain to look good. Men are equally enthusiastic about looking good, so, it’s perfectly natural for them to go to salons/spas especially during the festival and the party season when people want to look good and make an impression. Therefore there should not be any  gender bias on this trend.”

If you are worried about the expenses, Avinash Seth, owner of a famous unisex salon says, ” if you come twice or thrice a month for facials, pedicures or hair spas, you need to spend between 1500 and 2000 per sitting.

Looking good should not be imperative to cost. Seth adds, if you can spend in  unnecessary things like a flag of smoke and booze then why think so much when you spend on something which is crucial like beautifying your own self.

Come join the gang of guys’ glam!
