If you see mirror and are bothered by the mottled, sallow complexion with enlarged facial pores there is no need to despair because you can gain back smooth-looking, even-toned fresh face with the use of facial peels. Now, to get a salon quality peel you don’t need to spend a fortune. You can get facial peels in the comfort of your home with ingredients in your kitchen. Alpha Hydroxy Acids, or AHAs, also known as fruit acids or vitamin C peels, are the most commonly used rejuvenation treatments for facial skin care.

  1. Puree a pineapple/ papaya/ orange or all of them together and slap it on the face. Allow it to rest for fifteen to twenty minutes and then wash it off with warm water. Fruit acids are great for the skin because they loosen the glue between dead skin cells, and the cells fall away, leaving the face very smooth and soft.
  2. Use home made sour yoghurt on your face in upward strokes as a face cream. The lactic acid in the yoghurt is a naturally occurring alpha-hydroxy acid that gently peels off the dead skin layer, giving you a smooth skin texture. You can get the same benefits with sour milk.
  3. Cut a tomato in half and scoop out the flesh. Massage it on your face for a while and let it stay for ten minutes before you wash it off with warm water. For a super-smooth skin you can blend tomato puree with whipped sour yoghurt.
  4. To make a natural peel, mildly heat a pack of unflavored gelatin, add the juice of a lemon and an orange until the gelatin is well blended. Let cool and then whip an egg yolk into the mix. Apply on the face and neck and let it dry. Rinse off properly with warm water.
  5. Apple cider vinegar can be used as a natural and effective toner for your skin. The malic acid in vinegar helps renew your skin by ridding the epidermis of dead skin cells. Dilute one part cider vinegar in two parts distilled water. After washing your skin, apply the diluted vinegar solution with a cotton pad to your face and neck. Follow with a natural moisturizing lotion.
