Why Do Gums Bleed

Reason for bleeding gums

Blood on your toothbrush is a sign of infection raging in your mouth. Gums become infected when plaque– bacteria-laden film that forms on your teeth after you eat hardens up, in the absence of proper cleaning, at the gum line. Other than gingivitis, bleeding gums are linked to lethal form of cancer. In a recent Harvard study of more than 52000 men, those with infected gums were 63 percent more prone to pancreatic cancer than those with inflammation-free mouths.
