Stay Energetic Always

active young womenWe all have noticed that our energy levels are not the same every day. Some days we are more enthusiastic and are brimming with energy. These are the days when we make the most of the time. And, there are some days when everything moves at snail’s pace. We don’t feel like doing anything and numerous jolts of caffeine are needed so that we can survive through the day! What makes our day disappear in a jiffy or a drag is our energy levels, and the way they soar or slump.
If you too have been suffering from energy drought, Archana Darshan tells you a plan to stay energetic, alive and active forever. Just keep reading…..
1. Get active. Exercise is the first thing you sacrifice when you feel that your energy levels are dipping, which is not right really. In fact, staying active and grabbing exercise everyday keeps you fit and replenishes your energy levels. If you want to get in details exercise raises serotonin and beta-endorphin levels, which boost energy and give you a feeling of well-being. Just a little aerobic activity can do wonders: It can smoothen out your emotions, improve the way you think, soothe your nerves and lower your blood pressure!
2. Become a frequent eater. Ditch large meals in favour of six small meals to stay full of life throughout the day. Go for foods that will digest slowly and will give you energy steadily. The complicated name for such foods is complex carbohydrates. Any carbohydrate which is consumed closer to the form it was created by nature is complex carbohydrate. Good sources include whole fruits, whole grain sandwiches and oatmeal.
3. Get high on water. One of the best kept secrets to ward off lethargy is water. Keep a water bottle close and sip on it throughout the day. You will be able to ward off lethargy much better than tea and coffee. Dehydration also results in exhaustion. Drink water and stay energetic.
4. Stop skimping on sleep. Get a good night rest of seven to eight hours and you’re ready to be on the go the whole day. Cut back an hour and you’ll feel cranky, irritated and lethargic the next day.
5. Get a health check done. Sometimes fatigue acts as a symptom for health conditions like underactive thyroid and anaemia. Talk to your doctor to rule out these conditions.
6. Look at the glass half full. The way we think impacts our attitude to life. When you feel positive, you’re brimming with energy and full of beans. Depressed people tend to feel drained and suffer from energy slump. Add a fun quotient in whatever you do and begin to enjoy your work.
7. Turn on some tunes. Listening to good music elevates our moods. Good soulful music is just second to exercise, when it comes to uplifting our moods.

8. Socialise. Unknowingly, we are drifting towards becoming an island. Connecting with friends and relatives, help us get that burst of energy to work productively for the rest of the day. Socialising is a great commonly used way to bounce out off a bad mood and to regain energy.
9. Reward yourself. In order to energise yourself, you need to set rewards on a job well done. While criticism may make you work harder, in the long run, it is going to demotivate you. Steal a weekend getaway, with your family or plan a picnic in a place nearby to escape the monotony of daily routine, and it will give you spurts of energy that you need.
10. Power Meditation. Instead of meditating in the standard way, and falling asleep, do some power meditation. You can visualize a ball of white light slowly seeping through your body, and it can energise you for the rest of the day. Say sentences to boost your morale, like—you can do it. Users swear by the efficacy of positive affirmations. No harm in trying?
